Business education makes lifetime ambitions possible  

Heather Ashley worked in corporate management for 17 years, before taking a career break to travel around the world. 

Her story with business education and the online MBA began when she moved to Saudi Arabia, where, raising her boys she began looking for the next challenge.

Heather, said: “I’d always wanted to study for an MBA but I wouldn’t compromise on family time… the flexibility of Edinburgh Business School made it the perfect choice.”

Heather admits that at first she found studying quite tough, as she’d never studied for a degree before. “It was a great experience and I had great support from the faculty. I could go at my own pace and I loved that.”

Three years later, Heather graduated with distinction and attended her graduation ceremony in Scotland. 

She shared her success with friends and family. “It was an amazing experience to be up on the stage, it was a pleasure to meet Professor McGregor and see everyone in their gowns, looking fantastic.” 

She added, “It was a very, very proud moment for me and my family.”

Heather has now launched her own business in the health and wellness industry, a lifelong personal passion of hers.

“I believe that the skills I gained at Edinburgh Business School have given me the best possible platform to make my business a success”, she concluded.
