Jane Priest

Assistant Professor of Marketing

Dr Jane Priest is an assistant professor of marketing, specialising in strategic marketing and consumer behavior.

Jane manages the Edinburgh Business School MBA marketing courses, comprising Strategic Marketing, Marketing and eight marketing electives, including consumer behaviour. She contributed to the design of the new Strategic Marketing course and co-authored the textbook Consumer Behaviour.

Jane's PhD is in the area of consumer behavior, specifically exploring perceptions of identity and changing attitudes towards branding among new mothers in the UK. Her research interests include consumer culture theory, consumer identity, and consumption over the life-course.

Background

Before joining Edinburgh Business School, Jane was a marketing and communications manager for a national healthcare charity and responsible for the communications strategies of various national government funding programmes. Her background is in corporate and project communications in both private and charity sector organisations.
